VEGAN FLAPJACKS

Ingredients:

  • 250g porridge or rolled oats

  • 130g dairy free butter, extra for greasing

  • 120g light brown soft sugar

  • 3tbsp golden syrup


Method:

  • Preheat the oven to 180C and grease a rectangular baking tray (Note: sometimes I use baking paper so the flapjacks are easier to get out)


  • Heat the butter and sugar in a saucepan on low heat and mix until liquid is formed and there are no lumps

  • Pour the oats into a bowl and add the sugar and butter mixture


  • Mix thoroughly, add the golden syrup and mix again

  • Pour into the baking tray and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown. (Note: You may have to turn them around halfway through so that the half facing the oven door is switched to facing the end of the oven. This ensures that both sides are cooked equally and evenly).
