This delicious beverage is perfect for a summer day. Serve with a dollop of dairy free ice cream or a squirt of whipped cream. Don’t forget the marshmallows!


  • 350ml of dairy free milk (I recommend oat or almond milk)

  • 2 tablespoons of golden syrup

  • 1 teaspoon of sugar

  • About 5 tablespoons of cocoa powder (depends on how you chocolatey you like it)

  • 5 cubes of ice

  • Optional:  Dairy free whipped cream or vanilla ice cream


  • Put the milk, cocoa powder, sugar and syrup into a blender and blitz for about 7-10 seconds, until well combined

  • Then place in freezer for 5-10 minutes, or keep in fridge until you actually want to drink it so that it can stay cold

  • Add the ice, whipped cream or ice cream (or even both if you want), and enjoy!
