DAIRY FREE FRUIT CRUMBLE

Ingredients:

  • 2 large (200g) cooking apples (or equivalent amount of alternative fruit)

  • a large pinch cinnamon or mixed spice

  • 50g brown or white sugar

  • 100g plain flour

  • 50g dairy free butter/margarine

  • 25g rolled oats


Method:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°

  • Place the flour and sugar in a large bowl and mix well. Taking a few cubes of butter at a time rub into the flour mixture using your fingertips. Keep rubbing until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

  • Peel and chop fruit.

  • Place the fruit in an ovenproof dish and sprinkle over the sugar and cinnamon. Stir well being careful not to break up the fruit.

  • Sprinkle the crumble mixture on top of the fruit.

  • Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes until the crumble is browned and the fruit mixture bubbling

  • Serve by itself or with dairy free custard

  • Enjoy!
