DAIRY FREE FRUIT CRUMBLE
Ingredients:
2 large (200g) cooking apples (or equivalent amount of alternative fruit)
a large pinch cinnamon or mixed spice
50g brown or white sugar
100g plain flour
50g dairy free butter/margarine
25g rolled oats
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180°
Place the flour and sugar in a large bowl and mix well. Taking a few cubes of butter at a time rub into the flour mixture using your fingertips. Keep rubbing until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Peel and chop fruit.
Place the fruit in an ovenproof dish and sprinkle over the sugar and cinnamon. Stir well being careful not to break up the fruit.
Sprinkle the crumble mixture on top of the fruit.
Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes until the crumble is browned and the fruit mixture bubbling
Serve by itself or with dairy free custard
